EUCLID, OH — One of Ohio’s rising defensive backs is officially off the board. Class of 2027 standout Kei’Shjuan Telfair has announced his commitment to Penn State, giving the Nittany Lions a dynamic playmaker in the secondary for the future.

Telfair, a 6’0”, 170-pound cornerback out of Euclid High School, has been steadily building his name as one of the top young defensive prospects in the region. Known for his length, instincts, and ability to lock down receivers on the outside, he’s quickly become a player college programs are keeping a close eye on.
His decision to commit to Penn State reflects both the program’s strong defensive tradition and its ability to develop elite talent at the cornerback position. The Nittany Lions continue to prioritize speed, physicality, and high football IQ in their secondary—traits Telfair brings to the table.
Over the past year, Telfair has shown major growth in his game, showcasing improved footwork, tighter coverage, and the confidence to compete against top-tier competition. Whether it’s breaking up passes, reading quarterbacks, or making plays in open space, he’s proven he can impact the game in multiple ways.
For Penn State, this commitment adds another promising piece to their future defensive core. For Telfair, it marks a major step in his journey as he continues to develop into one of the next names to watch coming out of Ohio.
Preps Next will continue to track Telfair’s progression as he builds toward his senior season and beyond.
