As he prepares for his final season under center, Chase Burrill is looking to make a major statement for St. Petersburg Catholic High School. Coach Dana says: AI Opinion Chase Burrill's experience and poise in the pocket make him an attractive recruit, I'd prioritize evaluating his decision-making and ability to read defenses. His ability to keep plays alive is a valuable asset that could translate well to the next level.

Known for his poise in the pocket and ability to keep plays alive, Burrill has steadily developed into one of the more intriguing quarterbacks in the region. Now entering his final chapter at St. Petersburg Catholic, he understands the urgency and opportunity that comes with leading a veteran group while also building chemistry with several new playmakers joining the offense.

One of the biggest additions is dynamic weapon Alex McCollough, whose arrival adds another layer of explosiveness to the offense. Combined with returning personnel already familiar with Burrill’s command of the system, the Barons are expected to have more versatility and firepower than they’ve shown in recent years.

Preps Next was also able to see Burrill live in practice this week, and the senior quarterback impressed throughout the session. Burrill showcased a very strong arm, delivered accurate throws at multiple levels of the field, and looked extremely comfortable operating from the pocket. His confidence, command of the offense, and overall presence stood out immediately during live reps.

With spring football approaching, Preps Next projects Burrill to have a huge spring season and believes he is in position to attract additional college attention with strong performances against several quality ball clubs on St. Petersburg Catholic’s schedule. If he continues building momentum and producing at a high level, expect more programs to begin taking serious notice.

Burrill’s leadership will be one of the biggest keys for the Barons this season. Teammates and coaches continue to praise his growth both mentally and physically, and his ability to stay composed in critical moments has become one of the defining traits of his game. As the season approaches, the expectation is clear — Burrill wants to finish his high school career the right way and help push the Barons back into serious contention.

St. Petersburg Catholic could become one of the more dangerous teams to watch this fall.
