Jordan Willis of Alabama tops national stolen base leaderboard

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Jordan Willis of Parker (Birmingham, Ala.) is high school baseball’s national leader in stolen bases.

Willis tallied 83 stolen bases in 35 games. Just a freshman, he stole four bags or more in 13 games and recorded seven twice.

As a team, Parker piled up 497 stolen bases with teammates Je’Derrian Knox, DeCorian Welch, Major Craig , Kharon Thomas and Christian Dooley also appearing on the national leaderboard. Knox is an eighth grader who sits third in the country with 72 swipes.

Konnor Griffin of Jackson Prep (Jackson, Miss.) is No. 2 with 74 stolen bases. The senior is one of the top players in the nation and a projected first round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. He is batting .565 for the No. 3 team in the nation.

In a Feb. 20 win, Griffin stole six bases and hit a home run. Also a pitcher, Griffin has been lights out with a 0.64 ERA and 91 strikeouts across 55 innings.
