At 28 years old, Monte Harrison will be stepping on to the football field for the first time since he won a state championship at Lee’s Summit West (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) in the fall of 2013.

A four-star wide receiver in the Class of 2014, Harrison signed to play football at Nebraska in the Bo Pelini era.

He never made it to Lincoln.

In 2020, Harrison earned his first call-up to the Miami Marlins. Across three seasons with the Marlins and Angels Harrison hit .176 in 68 at-bats with two home runs.

Now the former 1,000-yard high school receiver is headed to Arkansas where he will walk-on under head coach Sam Pittman.

Whether it was rushing, receiving or returning, Harrison had a knack for the finding the end zone. He scored 28 touchdowns as a senior while the Titans won the Class 5 state championship. He finished his high school career as a higher-rated prospect than three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes according to 247Sports.
